Acme takes a great deal of pride in its' ability to provide clients with a customized design service. We have a large (2000+) list of "stock" sizes from
which to choose. However, knowing the industry, circumstances occur which often require custom designing. We have an in-house team of experienced design engineers and toolmakers that work together to take your drawing (or simple sketch) through design to a production tool.
Our years of experience have made us expert at designing pans (godets) to fit our customers' packaging. Given the requirements, our engineers will design a pan, specifying its' dimensions, radii, tolerances, material and special features. Trained by experience, we will allow for "spread" and "drop-in" and assure the size will enter the compact without binding. We will then submit the production drawing to the customer for approval. Once approved, the drawing will be sent to our Chief Toolmaker for final review and assignment.
Tooling "normally" requires about three weeks. Once complete, 100 samples are made for toolmaker, engineering and QA approval verifying dimensions and quality of finish. When these parts are approved, the tool is released to production. Our Quality Control Manager will oversee the first 500 pieces and any line trial sampling required by the customer. Twenty pieces of these will be selected at random by QC to be tested to ensure quality at a production level. Further production will be subject to standard inspection and SPC as outlined in the QC manual.
Once tooling has been created Acme will be responsible for the perpetual maintenance.
